Combine ingredients and boil to dissolve agar. Dispense and autoclave at 121?C. If making plates, autoclave at 121?C, let cool to 55?C and dispense.

Dextrose…………………………………….5.0 g
NaCl…………………………………………5.0 g
Soluble Starch……………………………...1.0 g
L-Cysteine HCl……………………………..0.5 g

Resazurin (0.025%)………………………..4 ml

Combine ingredients and dissolve. Adjust pH to 6.8. Dispense and autoclave at 121?C.
*To pre-reduce broth: Add all ingredients except L-Cysteine HCl. Bring medium to boil to drive off oxygen. Cool down medium while bubbling with oxygen free gas. Add L-Cysteine HCl and adjust pH to 6.8. Dispense under same gas phase and autoclave at 121C.
Oxoid’s Lab-Lemco Powder (LP0029) corresponds to BD’s Beef Extract except it gives a much lighter color to the medium. It may be substituted for Beef Extract if desired.
BD and Oxoid Reinforced Clostridial formulations contain agar. This Modification is agar-free.
