无乳链球菌为革兰阳性球菌，单个、成双、链状排列、长短不一。是乳腺炎的病原体，常存在于乳牛的皮肤、乳头及乳房内，通过挤乳人员的手或挤乳机械以及蝇类的机械携带而传播。这种链球菌引起乳房炎后不产生明显免疫力，目前尚无可靠的多价菌苗。革兰阳性球菌，单个、成双、链状排列、长短不一。

临床意义：无乳链球菌是造成孕妇产褥期脓毒血症和新生儿脑膜炎的一个重要原因。它寄生在产妇生殖道，可致婴儿感染的发生。也可引起产后感染、菌血症、心内膜炎、皮肤和软组织感染及骨髓炎。
