ATCC medium: 2335 Nutrient agar with tap water and soil extract, pH 5
Prepare dehydrated Nutrient Agar (BD 213000) according to manufacturer's instructions.
Replace water called for with 750 ml of tap water, and 250 ml of soil extract (see below).
Prepare the Nutrient Agar in the tap water/soil extract mixture.
Adjust pH to 5.0 prior to autoclaving.
Soil Extract:
African violet soil...............77.0 g
Na2CO3 .............................0.2 g
Distilled, deionized water.......200.0 ml
Boil for one hour. Filter-clarify before use.
