Adjust medium for final pH 7.2. Boil medium without sodium bicarbonate, trace elements or sodium sulfide under 80% N2, 20% CO2; dispense and tube with the same gas phase. Cool and aseptically add the filtersterilized sodium bicarbonate and trace elements. Aseptically add the sodium sulfide which has been separately autoclaved under N2.

Hydrochloric acid, 25%............10.0 ml

Dissolve the FeCl2 . 4H2O in the concentrated HCl, then dilute. Use 1.0 ml/L of medium.
