MgSO4 . 7H2O .......................0.5 g

Agar..............................20.0 g

Distilled water....................1.0 L

Autoclave.

Filter-sterilize 5.0 ml of Solution A (see below), and 10.0 ml of Solution B (see below), and add to the above.

Solution A:

Ferric ammonium citrate............1.0 g

CaCl2 ..............................0.1 g

Distilled water..................100.0 ml

Solution B:

Glucose...........................10.0 g

Distilled water..................100.0 ml

For autotrophic growth omit Solution B.
