Prepare the medium anaerobically under a steady stream of 80% N2 and 20% CO2. Adjust the pH to 5.5-6.5 with 1M H3PO4. Autoclave at 121?C for 15 minutes.

Nitrilotriacetic acid .......1.500 g

KI...........................0.020 g
CoCl . 6H20..................0.020 g
MnCl2 . 4H2O .................0.080 g

Add nitrilotriacetic acid to approximately 500 ml of water and adjust to pH 6.5 with KOH to dissolve the compound. Bring volume to 1.0 L with remaining water and add remaining compounds one at a time.
