ATCC medium: 551 Oatmeal agar (ISP Medium 3)
Oatmeal...........................20.0 g
Agar..............................18.0 g
Trace Salts Solution (see below)...1.0 ml
Distilled deionized water..........1.0 L
Bring water and oatmeal to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes.
Filter through cheesecloth. Add agar and bring volume back up to 999 ml. Bring to a boil.
Autoclave at 121 degrees for 15 minutes. Aseptically add 1 ml Trace Salts Solution.
Trace Salts Solution:
FeSO4 . 7H2O .......................0.1 g
MnCl2 . 4H2O .......................0.1 g
ZnSO4 . 7H2O .......................0.1 g
Distilled deionized water........100.0 ml
Mix thoroughly. Filter-sterilize.
