奥斯陆莫拉菌，杆菌，短且宽(1.0～1.5μm×1.5～ 2.5μm)，接近球状，通常成对或呈短链(一个分裂平面 )，菌体大小和形状可变，常形成丝状和长链，在缺氧和高于最适温度培养时，可以促进多形态产生。可形成荚膜，革兰氏阴性，但有抗褪色的倾向。无鞭毛。有纤毛。不常见泳动，可进行表面抽动。好氧，最适生长温度33～35℃，通常接触酶阳性。化能有机营养菌。不能利用碳水化合物产酸。对青霉素高度敏感。
