Comments : Add contents of thawed ampule to a 80-85% monolayer of HDF cells. If foci of CPE fail to spread by day 11 PI, split infected cells 1:2 and observe for CPE as monolayer reforms. Attenuated for man, broad antigenicity. Stable for 6 months at -60C in form of glycerinated cells. Virus primarily cell associated. A long (10-11 day) incubation is required for initial passage of frozen stocks.
